News from Scott Farm: Hard Cider
Last year, Scott Farm started working on developing a high-quality hard cider by fermenting different blends of our heirloom apples. Following two very successful tasting events in fall 2021, Scott Farm is now getting ready to officially launch their French style hard cider.
“French style” refers to an age-old fermentation process known as “keeving” which uses the natural yeasts of high tannin apples to ferment slowly through the winter. The result is a petillant naturel with complex flavors and residual sweetness. Look for this cider at our farm market next season.
