Ben Cosgrove to perform new composition inspired by Dutton Farmhouse

May 29, 7:00pm, Brattleboro Music Center

Ben Cosgrove is a traveling composer-performer whose music explores themes of landscape, place, and environment. He has been described by the Boston Globe as “a sonic plein-air painter… [using] his piano as a paintbrush” and was recently profiled in Yankee Magazine. Ben's music has been called "beautiful and fascinating" (The Maine Edge), "deeply impressive" (Independent Clauses), and "immediately evocative and fully arresting... brim[ming] with technical mastery and emotional capital" (Seven Days). Sound of Boston has described him as "an expert at painting sonic portraits of curious, unexpected places."

Thanks to support from The Windham Foundation, over the last year Ben has been collaborating with Landmark and the Brattleboro Music Center, composing new work inspired by our respective landscapes. One of these new pieces is inspired by Dutton Farmhouse and it’s environment, including the Scott Farm Orchard. This one-of-a-kind concert experience will deliver a sonic exploration of our unique southern Vermont landscape. You truly will not want to miss this inspired performance.
